Starting Up and Shutting Down Windows Vista

This is the very first you do to use your computer, starting up Windows Vista. However this is the very easy to do, just press the power button on your computer and wait untill the desktop is shown, and you're ready to go.

But what about shutting down Windows Vista? Actually, there are six options to shut down your computer, and they are available on the Lock button menu. To see the option, click the Start button, and then click the arrow button next to the Lock button. There you'll find some options related to shutting down computer.



Each option has functions as follows:

Log Off
This command make you get out from current user account, Windows closes all of your open programs and documents but still giving you an opportunity to save any unsaved documents first. It then presents a new Welcome screen so that the other users can log in.

Lock
This command will deny access to anyone except those you've authorized to log on to computer.

Restart
This command quit all programs and Windows, and then start the computer again. Usually user do this to refresh the computer.

Sleep
By pressing this button, Windows Vista quietly keeps your sessions in memory and puts the computer in a low-power state so that you can quickly resume working.

Hibernate
Hibernate saves your session into memory and turns off  the computer. When you turn on the computer, Windows restores your session.

Shut Down
It functions to close all open programs, shuts down Windows, and the turns off the computer.
