Learn Vista - Ways To View Files and Folders

There are seven ways to view the list of files and folders in Windows Explorer, namely Tiles, Details, List, Small Icons, Medium Icons, Large Icons, and Extra Large Icons. You can change from one view to another view by clicking the arrow button next to Views button on toolbar, and then click one of the view model you like.





Short descriptions of each view model as follows:

Tiles
Using this view model, all files and folders are arranged in the form of icon with medium size, together with file name, file type, and file size.



Details
By using this view model, all files and folders are arranged in the form of small icons in a single column list with comprehensive file/folder information.



List
By using this view model, all files and folders are arranged in the form of simple list with multiple columns. This is a very simple view.



Small Icons, Medium Icons, Large Icons, and Extra Large Icons
By using these view models, all files and folders are arranged in the form of simple list with multiple columns, and the icons/pictures are displayed in specific size (small, medium, large, or extra large).
