Learn Vista - Defragmenting Your Drives

Windows Vista provides a tool, called Disk Defragmenter, that functions to perform defragmentation, by rearranging the fragmented data so that your drives (hardisk) can work faster.

To Start Defragmenting:

- Make sure there are no open programs or files from the drive you want to defrag.

- Click the Start menu, and then click Computer.

- Right-click the drive that you want to defrag, and then click Properties.



- In Properties window, click Tools tab. Then click the Defragment Now button to start defragmentation. Wait until the process finishes. If you want to cancel it, just click the Close button.
