Learn Vista - Synchronizing Media Files To Portable Device Using Windows Media Player 11

You can use Windows Media Player (WMP) 11 to sync media files from your computer to a mobile electronic device such as mp3 player, smartphone, pocket pc, etc.

To sync media files using WMP:

1. Connect your portable device to computer. If AutoPlay window appears, just press ESC.

2. Run Windows Media Player (WMP) . Click Sync tab. WMP will detect your device automatically, and it will show you the Device Setup window. You can rename your device there, and finish it by clicking Finish button.






3. Now get focus to the Sync List on the List Pane. Drag items (media files) to this pane. You can drag items from the WMP library as well as Windows Explorer. If you want to remove some files that you've dragged into the list, right-click an item, and then click Remove from List. And if you want to clear the list, click the X button next to Sync List text.




4. After you finish adding items (media files) on the Sync List, now click Start Sync button to begin copying/synchronizing all files in the Sync List into your device.




5. Then, WMP starts the Sync process and shows the process detail on its window. Now just wait until it finish. But if you want to cancel the process, click Stop Sync button.
