Organizing files and folders is not escaped from copy, move, delete, and rename. These actions are needed by whoever using computer. In Windows Vista, the ways to do them are not different than ones in previous Windows.
The steps are as follows:
1. Open Windows Explorer window (Click WINDOWS key + E on keyboard).
2. Click/select the folder/drive on Navigation pane that contains files/folders which you want to process.
3. On the file/folder list, select files and folders you want to process. Then right-click one of the selected files/folders.
To select more than one files and they are not near each other, so click a file first, then press and hold Ctrl button on keyboard, and then click other files/folders.
4. Then after the pop-up menu appears, click the action you want to do.
Some matters you should know:
Copy: After copying files/folders, then you have to Paste them.
Move: means Cutting files/folders first, and then Paste them on other location.
Delete: You can delete files and folders just by pressing DEL button on keyboard after selecting them. If you delete files/folders, by default, they will be sent to Recycle Bin folders. If you want to delete them without sending them into Recycle Bin, then press and hold SHIFT button while deleting the files/folders.
Rename: You can also rename a file/folder by pressing F2 key on keyboard after selecting a file/folder. You can not rename more than one file/folder at the same time.
