Learn Vista - Turning Windows Firewall On and Off

If you install another Firewall, you may want to turn off Windows Firewall. However if you don't, it's very recommended to turn it on. Because a firewall can help preventing malicious software or even hackers from gaining access to your computer through a network or the Internet.

To Turn Windows Firewall On or Off:

- Open Control Panel. (Click the Start menu, then click Control Panel).

- In Control Panel, click Security. And then in Windows Firewall section, click Turn Windows Firewall On Or Off.

- On Windows Firewall Settings window, select On (recommended) to turn Firewall on, or select Off (not recommended) to turn Firewall off.

- The last, click OK button.
