Vista Tips - Changing the Column Headings Structure in Windows Explorer

In Windows Explorer, there are five types of Column headings structure: All items, Documents, Pictures and Videos, Music Details, and Music Icons. By default, Windows Vista will automatically decide and apply the type of headings structure to every folder. But sometimes it makes mistakes, like in the picture below:

At the picture above, you can see the general folder uses headings structure for music, which consists of name, artists, album, genre, and so on.

You can change the headings structure as follows:

- In Windows Explorer, right-click the folder that uses wrong headings structure, and then click Properties.

- In the folder Properties dialog box, click the Customize tab.

- Under Use this folder type as a template, choose one of the options that suits your folder. If it is a general folder, you can choose All Items or Documents.

- Click OK button. Then the column headings structure changes.
