Basically, notepad is not aimed for .txt file only. You can use it to edit many kinds of files such as .html, .asp, .php, .htm, .js, .css, or else, except binary files (executable or library files, or else).
To save your writings in Notepad into a non .txt file:
- In Notepad, Click File menu, and click Save or Save As.
- Browse for folder for your file, then in the File name textbox, type your file name with extension. For examples: sandrina.html for html file, or javascr.js for javascript file, or mystyle.css for cascading style sheet file, and so on.
- By doing so, you will save your writings in non .txt file.
