Learn Vista - Adding Pictures Into Gallery

Adding pictures into picture list inside Windows Photo Gallery, can be done in two methods, namely by dragging the pictures from Windows Explorer, and by adding the folder of pictures from Windows Photo Gallery.

First Method: Dragging pictures into Windows Photo Gallery

1. Run Windows Photo Gallery, and also run Windows Explorer.
2. On Windows Explorer, open/click a folder which contains pictures to be added into Windows Photo Gallery list.
3. Select pictures which you want to insert into Windows Photo Gallery, then drag them into the window of Windows Photo Gallery.



4. To see the pictures you've added, click Pictures on left pane, and then locate your pictures on the thumbnail list. For more detail, please have a look the picture below:



One thing you need to know, by using this method, the pictures you drag, are copied into Pictures default folder of Windows Vista. So if you edit those pictures, actually you don't edit the pictures in original folder, but ones in Pictures folder. If you want to include pictures outside  the Pictures folder of Windows Vista, you should perform the second method below.
As additional information, if you want to open Pictures folder of Windows Vista, click Start menu > Pictures on desktop start menu.

Second method: Adding folder which contains pictures

1. Run Windows Photo Gallery.
2. On menubar, click File, then click Add Folder to Gallery.
3. On the dialog box, select the folder that contains pictures you want to include into Windows Photo Gallery, then click OK button.



4. To view the pictures you've added, click Folder text on the left pane, then beneath it, find the folder you've already added. Click it to vew your pictures.
