Learn Vista - Editing Your Photos Using Windows Photo Gallery

Windows Photo Gallery provides some basic photo editing functions which you can use to improve your photos/pictures.

How to Edit Your Photos/Pictures:

1. Open Windows Photo Gallery.
2. In the thumbnail list, find a picture/photo that you want to fix, then click it, and then click Fix button.



3. On the right pane, there are five tools/functions you can use to improve your photo: Auto Adjust, Adjust Exposure, Adjust Color, Crop Picture, and Fix Red Eye. Besides that, you can use some other buttons to assist you while fixing your photo. Take a look the picture below:



4. After editing your picture, click the Back to Gallery button, Next button, or Previous Button to save the changes automatically.


Editing Functions/Tools:

Auto Adjust 
Computer will automatically adjust exposure and color of the picture.

Adjust Exposure
If your picture/photo looks too dark or too bright, click this button to correct the brightness and contrast yourself.

Adjust Color
This function provides you options to change color temperature, tint, and saturation of your picture/photo.
- Color temperature : make the picture looks cooler (blue) or warmer (red).
- Tint : adding and removing green element of the picture's color.
- Saturation : To strengthen the color of your picture.

Crop Picture
You can take only a part of the picture that you're satisfied with, by using this tool.

Fix Red Eye
It will fix the red effect of the eye on pictures taken by digital camera. Click this button, then drag around the eye picture.
Note: This function will automatically detect red part only, inside the area that you select/drag, and then change the red color to become dark color.
