Learn Vista - Introduction to Windows Photo Gallery

Windows Photo Gallery is a nice image tool included in Windows Vista, which you can view, edit, share, and print your pictures and photos.

Open Windows Photo Gallery

To open it, click Start button > All Programs > Windows Photo Gallery on the desktop start menu.
Here is what Windows Photo Gallery looks like:



The pictures seen the first time you open Windows Photo Gallery, come from the default location, namely the Pictures folder, you can access it by clicking Start > Pictures on desktop start menu. Besides that, however you can also add other pictures from other folders.


Showing Info Pane

Info pane contains detailed information about a picture you click or double-click. In info pane, you can also add/edit tags and edit other informations (like date, name, etc) relating to the picture. By default, the info pane doesn't appear. To show it, just click the Info button on menubar. Then it appears as the right pane.




Viewing a Picture

To view a picture at larger size, just locate the mouse pointer on a thumbnail, and then it shows the larger one.



To view a picture more detail (full picture size in window), just double-click the thumbnail.




Enlarge and Shrink The Thumbnail Size

You can enlarge or shrink the thumbnail size by clicking and move the slider up to enlarge or down to shrink.
