Learn Vista - Saving a Web Page Or a Picture From a Web Page

Internet provides you much valuable information. You can save the valuable web page as a file. There are four ways to save it: saving it as complete web page (including images, script, and other associated files), saving it as html only (not including images, script, and other associated files), saving it as single file (all information including images, script, etc, are saved into one file), and saving it as a text file. You can also save a particular picture from a webpage into your computer.

To save a web page:

1. Open Internet Explorer 7. Then go to the webpage you want to save.

2. Click Page button on the toolbar, and then click Save As.

3. On the Save Webpage window, specify and navigate to the drive and folder where you want to save the webpage. Then type the filename if you want to change it. And then choose the file type which the web page is saved as.
As described above, there are four file type you can choose:
- Webpage, complete (*.htm; *.html). It saves the webpage content into a file, and the associated files (image, script, etc) into a specific folder.
- Web Archive, single file (*.mht). It saves the webpage content including the associated files (image, script, etc) into a file.
- Webpage, HTML only (*.htm; *.html). It saves the webpage content only into a file (the associated files such as images, scripts, etc, are not included).
- Text File (*.txt). It saves only texts of the webpage into a file (a file with .txt extension).

4. The last, click Save button.
