Learn Vista - Using Parental Controls to Limit Programs That Children Can Use

By using Parental Controls, you can determine which specific programs your children can and can not use

To control which specific programs your child can use:

- Open Parental Controls. (Click Start menu, then click Control Panel, then click Set up parental controls for any user, and then click your child's account.



- Under Parental Controls, click On, enforce current settings to turn on Parental Controls.

- Click Allow and block specific programs. Then the Application Restrictions window appears.




- To let your children can use all programs, click [account name] can use all programs.

- Conversely, to specify which programs your children can play, click [account name] can only use the programs I allow. Then Windows will search programs installed in your computer and show them on the list. Then select the programs that you want to allow. If the program you want doesn't appear in the list, click Browse to locate the program.



- When you've finished, click OK button. Then click OK button again.
