Vista Tips - Customizing Items on the Right Pane of the Start menu

You can add or remove items, such as Computer, Control Panel, or Pictures, that appear on the right side of the Start menu. You can also change some items so that they appear as links or menus.

To customize Items on the Right Pane of the Start menu:

- Open the Taskbar and Start menu Properties dialog box. (Right-click the Taskbar, and then click Properties).

- Click the Start Menu tab, and then click Customize button.

- In the Customize Start Menu dialog box, you can customize any options there. By selecting or clearing the check box of an item, you will display or hide it from Start menu. You can also set whether an item appears as a link or as a menu by selecting the Display as a link option or Display as a menu option. If you select the Don't display this item option, then the item will disappear from Start menu.

- Click OK button, and then click OK button again.
