Windows Vista Tips - Renaming Files Concurrently

One way to easily manage many files with the same kind, is by renaming them all concurrently. So all of them will have the same name but differentiated by number.

To rename files concurrently:

- Open Windows Explorer (press CTRL+E).

- Select files you want to rename concurrently, then right-click a file of the selected ones that will become the first file, and the click Rename. Next, type the name for the file, and then press ENTER.

- The result, the file you right-click will be renamed as the name you just typed, whereas other files also have the same name but followed with ordered numbers.
