Windows Vista Tips - Setting the Priority of a Program

In Task Manager, you can set the priority of running programs. Generally, the priority of programs are set to Normal. When you set a program to higher priority (Above Normal or High), then the program will be executed earlier then others with lower priority.

To set the priority of a program:

- Open Task Manager (Right-click the Taskbar, and then click Task Manager).

- Click the Processes tab.

- In the list of running programs/processes, right-click the program you want to set its priority, then click Set Priority, and then click the priority that you wish to apply to the program.
