Windows Vista Tips - Show The Shut Down Button on Start Menu

By default, Windows Vista puts the Sleep button on Start menu. But if you use Shut Down button more frequently than Sleep button, you can replace the Sleep button with Shutdown button.

This is the picture that you always see from the Start menu:

To replace the Sleep button with Shut Down button:

- Open Control Panel (Click Start button, and then click Control Panel).

- In Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, then click Power Options, and then click Change plan settings under the selected power plan option.

- Click Change advanced power settings.

- From the Power Options dialog box, in the list, expand Power buttons and lid, and then expand Start menu power button. Next, set both the On battery option and the Plugged-in option to Shut down.

- Click OK button, and then close the Control Panel.

- Now you can click the Start button and then look, the Sleep button has turned to Shut Down button.
