Windows Mail will automatically put your incoming e-mail that is considered as spam or other unwanted e-mail into Junk E-mail folder. In this tutorial, we will learn some ways that you can use to control the e-mail contains spam.
To Set Spam Protection Level:
- In Windows Mail, click the Tools menu, and then click Junk E‑mail Options.
- In Junk E-mail Options dialog box, click Options tab.
- Choose the spam protection level that you want: No Automatic Filtering, Low, High, or Safe List Only.
- Select the Permanently delete suspected junk e-mail instead of moving it to the Junk E-mail folder check box to automatically delete spam e-mail when found.
- Last, click OK button.
To Register The Trusted E-mail Address:
Windows Mail will not consider all e-mail addresses in this list as spam or unwanted e-mail, so they won't be put in Junk E-mail folder.
- In Windows Mail, click the Tools menu, and then click Junk E‑mail Options.
- In Junk E-mail Options dialog box, click Safe Senders tab.
- Click Add button to add an e-mail address that you trust. Or click Edit button to edit the e-mail address you select. Or click Remove button to delete e-mail address you select.
- Last, click OK button.
To Register The Untrusted E-mail Address:
Windows Mail will consider all e-mail addresses in this list as spam or unwanted e-mail, so they will be put in Junk E-mail folder.
- In Windows Mail, click the Tools menu, and then click Junk E‑mail Options.
- In Junk E-mail Options dialog box, click Blocked Senders tab.
- Click Add button to add an e-mail address that you treat as spam. Or click Edit button to edit the e-mail address you select. Or click Remove button to delete e-mail address you select.
- Last, click OK button.
To mark an e-mail in Junk E-mail folder as trusted one:
When you find an e-mail in Junk E-mail folder that doesn't contain spam, you can mark it as not spam, so that it moves into your Inbox folder.
- In Windows Mail, click the Junk E‑mail folder at the left pane.
- Then at the right pane, right-click the message that you trust as not spam, then point to Junk E-mail, and then click Mark as Not Junk. The message now is in Inbox folder.
