Showing The Icon Label Drop Shadow Effect

One way to make your desktop looks nice, is by turning on the drop shadow effect for label of desktop icons. To do that, please follow these steps:



- Click the Start button, and then click Run.

- Type sysdm.cpl and then press ENTER.

- In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab, and then click the Settings button under the Performance section.

- In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Visual Effects tab.

- Select the Custom option. Then inside the list of check boxes, locate and select the Use Drop Shadows for Icon Labels on the Desktop check box. Selecting this check box, means you want to turn on the icon label drop shadow effect. If you want to disable that effect, you must clear this check box.

- Click OK button. And then click OK button again to close the System Properties dialog box.

Now, look at the label of your desktop icons. You will see the shadow effect now.
